Consider This!

I write about topics that affect and concern many people. Ideas and thoughts come from family, friends, co-workers, and myself. My intentions are to express feeling and value to each blog, and through words provide imagery to increase awareness of how others deal with different problems and challenges that we face living in America.

People and Yo-Yos Have Something in Common

I always liked playing with a Yo-Yo until the string started to twist over its self and sometimes even produced a knot or two. I learned a few cool tricks like walking the dog, around the world and dropping it down and just letting it spin freely in place. Lately, each day of the week can seem like a Yo-Yo. The day may start off going great and I might even think to myself, wow can this be real. One day comes a little unexpected twist, or knot to bring things to a halt. The good thing is that I have family and friends to turn to when I get in a bind. And over the past year or so, I have found out who I can really trust to confide in. Have you ever heard someone say they did not have time for someone else's problems because they had trouble dealing with their own? Or maybe someone you talked with just gave you an empty blank stare for a response. (hey wait a minute, that's what a few of the bank CEO's gave when being asked questions by the Federal Government on live television.)

Seriously, what are most people doing to get answers and support to cope with obstacles they encounter? Who do you turn to and who do you trust to give you honest and helpful information. If you have stopped trusting anyone and everyone, I have some food for thought: You as an individual know what problems you have and have some clue how they came to be. Challenge yourself, to search the web, library, and maybe even your religion on each problem, one at a time. Learn a little and educate yourself about the subject matter and take a minute to breath. I know that when I used to get the string too tangled on my Yo-Yo, I would just put it down and do something else. Eventually though, I would pick it back up, figure out how to untie all the knots and start playing with it again hoping to learn a new cool trick. Some of life's obstacles are like Yo-Yo's when you really start to think about them.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
