 The Way We Interact

I have been asked by a few readers if this site centers around people of America. The answer is both yes and no. Since I live in the states naturally I focus on topics close to home. Maybe, in a way I do focus mostly on what is happening in the U.S., but I do realize that people of other countries are interested too, in our behaviors and actions, and the way we handle ourselves. Would you consider yourself as a role model citizen? How do you think people of other countries perceive us? Is the U.S. still an influential world economy and do other countries respect our opinions and general input on world topics?
As the stock market falls below 7000, a first since 1997 I think, and our policy makers are introducing new financial policies, other countries too are suffering losses in their economies. Would you agree that the way we handle our hardships will be looked at carefully by others in the world? Something simple as our daily interaction with one another, weather or not it is on an individual basis, or on a much grander scale, such as in Congressional meetings, will be an important indicator as to how well we all, as a society, will ride out this storm.
Sometimes people may be quick to write off or not consider another persons opinion, believing they have all the right answers. Such an example has been seen in the discord between the new Administration and some journalists and commentators. Disagreeing can be a good thing as long as all parties involved take into consideration the position of others.
